(From Popular Mechanics)
Let's start out with the biggest numbers. And you've heard them before, the new 2009 Corvette ZR1 has: 638 hp. 605 lb.-ft. 205 mph.
The 2009 Corvette ZR1's frame is all aluminum, with a sprinkling of magnesium castings at critical points to add strength without weight. Brakes are massive, carbon-ceramic Brembos, which should last the life of the vehicle. The carbon-fiber front splitter mounted below the radiator inlet generates enough downforce that the front fascia had to be reinforced to prevent it from sagging and letting the splitter graze the pavement.
