2012 Chevy Silverado HD

Chevy Silverado, 2011 Motor Trends Truck of the Year, just got better! For 2012 model, you can expect even more from your truck!  The Chevy Silverado HD rolls into the New Year with:

§  Best-in-class 1-ton fifth-wheel towing capacity of 23,000 pounds.

§  Best-in-class conventional towing capacity of 18,000 pounds.

§  Best-in-class payload of 7,215 pounds.

On top of the performance the Silverado will also come with heated/cooled seats in the LTZ models and in the ZR1 package an “Off Road” appearance package, as well as four new exterior colors to choose from and two interior colors! Chevy did not forget about the 3500 HD either, in the dual rear wheel models, a new forged polished aluminum wheel is standard on LTZ models.

This added performance comes from a strategic enhancements incorporated the trucks chassis. Updated trailer-hitch receivers will increase the Silverado’s towing from the 17,000 it’s at now to 18,000 for the 2012 model.  Better for the fifth-wheel towing capacity, engineers added strength to the pickup’s box sills and other box structures along with the rear springs. In the 3500 HD the towing rating goes from 21,700 to 23,000 pounds!

Since Chevy upped the performance features of the Silverado, they also added technology that can help you stay connected while you are away from the office on business or your drive home. These features include a new navigation radio, enhanced display, Sirius XM radio, Bluetooth for the phone, USB connectivity and as always OnStar, with OnStar Directions & Connections with Turn-by-Turn Navigation and Automatic Crash Response.

Need to access that urgent e-mail from the office and cannot on your phone, Chevy thought of a way to fix that as well. Chevrolet WiFi powered by Autonet, will also be available on the 2012 Silverado HD. Chevrolet WiFi can be installed through the dealership and will turn your truck into a mobile hot spot or office on wheels. This feature will allow multiple users from up to 150 feet from the exterior of the truck to connect to the internet. On the recreation side of things, the truck allows families to access their social media sites, weather, traffic reports, or simply search for a camping site for the evening.

2012 Camaro Has More Horsepower

Camaro fans, want more horsepower without sacrificing the 30 mpg on the highway? Chevy’s new model year 2012 Camaro will deliver just that, 11 more horsepower, 7 % intake airflow improvement and exhaust flow increased by 10 %!

This increase of power comes from the newly designed integrated exhaust-manifold cylinder head, which takes off 13 pounds out of the engines overall weight! This amount of weight is like taking a set of golf clubs out of your car when you don’t need them anymore.

On top of the added horsepower customers will see lower emissions, less engine noise, added performance, slight increase in fuel economy and lastly due to the smaller design, more room in the engine bay!

Chevy Sonic vs. Hyundai Accent

Production of the new Chevrolet Sonic is underway. Customers can expect to see the Chevy Sonic arriving in Chevy dealerships late October to mid-November. Vehicle features include, Hill-Hold Technology for manual transmissions, Chevy Cruze power but at small car price and premium design elements, such as climate controlled thermostat. With all the research and technology that has gone into this vehicle, some would wonder if there is any real comparison.

Chevy Silverado verses the Ford V-6 F-150

With the growing concern of fuel efficient vehicles due to rising of gas prices, we thought we would explain some differences to help you truly understand what you are purchasing with your hard earned money.

While, the F-150 does have impressive Horse Power and Torque, it comes with a price tag.  Ford’s Turbo V6 (4x4) has identical EPA fuel economy as the Chevy 5.3 liter V8. With that being said, the Chevy Silverado has been proven to be more durable AND reliable over the test of time! The 5.3 liter engines that are in the Chevy Silverado’s are the reason why Chevrolet can advertise “The Most Dependable, Longest Lasting Full-Size Pickup On The Road.” This claim has been validated every year since 1991! 20 consecutive years is respectable!

Chevy’s All Star Package offers value for your dollar! The All Star Silverado Extended Cab 4x4 All Star will retail for $2,000 LESS THAN a comparably equipped F-150 XLT Supercab with EcoBoost. If, the Ford customers want to put additional horse power and torque to work pulling and hauling above and beyond Chevy’s standard 5.3 liters capabilities, which already out do Ford’s, then the trucks need to run on 91 Octane fuel verses the 87 octane fuel for the Silverado’s. Advantage to Chevy customers saving money at the gas pumps!

OnStar Pilot Feature Helps Parents Keep Tabs on Teens.

“What parent hasn’t asked their teenaged driver to call or send a text when they arrive somewhere, only to not hear from them?” OnStar President Linda Marshall said in a statement.
General Motors' OnStar unit is testing a feature that will allow it's subscribers to pinpoint the location of their vehicles remotely. This service will allow the vehicle's owner to keep tabs on the car, as well as young drivers. 

Through the service, dubbed Family Link, a subscriber can use a web site to view a map with the vehicle’s exact location at any time via a text or e-mail.
The pilot also will test features that notify the owner if the vehicle tops a certain speed or leaves a certain vicinity.
OnStar is asking about 10,000 active U.S. subscribers to participate in the pilot.

OnStar is still in testing phase of this feature till late September. Depending on the feedback will result whether OnStar will release it to the general public and how much this feature will cost.
